It’s been a tough and challenging start to the 2020/21 academic year with university life drastically changed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of you have faced difficulties with unsuitable learning environments, financial hardship due to a lack of part-time work and the mental health of many has been negatively impacted, to name just a few things.

Students’ Union President, Emily Casey has therefore written to local Members of Parliament; North East Somerset MP Jacob Rees-Mogg, Bath MP Wera Hobhouse and Chippenham MP and Minister of State for Universities Michelle Donelan, expressing concerns about the impact on students during the pandemic and how they are overlooked. In the letters, she is calling on them to work with their colleagues in Government on key areas such us, the right to leave accommodation and additional funding for mental health and wellbeing services.
