Winter Break Information image

It has been a hard and challenging start to the 2020/21 academic year for everyone. During a difficult time like this, it is important to take time to recharge. We hope that this winter break is as relaxing as it can be despite the current circumstances.

Despite teaching finishing today, your Students' Union and the University are still providing support and services in the lead up to Christmas and into the New Year.

SU Building

The Students’ Union Reception will close from 4pm today (11th December) and will re-open at 10am on Tuesday 5th January. The SU Shop will close at 4pm today (11th December) and will reopen on 4th January at 11am. The SU Bar and Kitchen reopening will be reviewed in the New Year, subject to what tier Bath is in come January.

Advice Centre

Your Advice Centre will be available until 17th December. If you are in need of Wellbeing Support, Housing Support, Sexual Health Support or Academic Advice, please do get in touch and our advisors will be able to help. The Advice Centre will be available from 4th January.

Events and Activities 

Seasonal Coffee Sessions, Monday 21st - Thursday 24th December

We also know Christmas can be a lonely time for many people, especially at the moment when you aren’t able to see family and friends freely or go home at all. Therefore, in the lead up to Christmas, we are running "Seasonal Coffee Sessions", with one of us hosting each day. This is an opportunity for you to come and have a chat and let us know how you are doing!

International students - you're invited to the Mayor of Bath's Christmas Tea Party!

On 28th December at 2pm, Bath Spa University international students are invited to an online Mayor’s Christmas Tea Party with The Right Worshipful The Mayor of Bath, Megan Robertson - Vice President Welfare and Community and Kevin Bordonaro. - International Students’ Rep.

Compassion at Christmas

Help reduce loneliness this Christmas by signing up to volunteer to Bath and North East Somerset Council (B&NES) 3GS initiative Compassion at Christmas and give a Christmas Day call to someone who is lonely or vulnerable this Christmas.

If you are living in the B&NES area and are feeling lonely over the Winter Break, you can also sign up to request a Christmas Day Call from a volunteer.
